Questions Before You Enrol

Clear answers about eligibility, live delivery, course schedules, certification and how the online programme compares with studying in person.

Still unsure whether the course is right for you?

Tell us your location, time zone, English level and teaching goals. Our team can help you choose the right intake.

Ask About the Course
Is this course only for people who want to teach online?

No. You develop practical skills for both face-to-face and online teaching, including lesson planning, classroom management, learner engagement and assessed teaching practice.

What is the difference between the online and in-class courses?

The curriculum, trainers, teaching practice, assessments, learning outcomes and certificate are the same. The main difference is where you attend: face-to-face trainees study at Inspire, while online trainees join scheduled live Zoom classes.

Does the certificate say that I studied online?

No. The certificate does not state that the programme was completed online. Both delivery formats lead to the same TESOL certificate accredited by the CPD Standards Office.

What English level do I need?

Applicants should normally have English at B2 level or above. Evidence may include:

  • IELTS 6.5 or above
  • A university degree with a major in English
  • Another suitable qualification demonstrating B2-level English

If you do not have formal evidence, you can complete a free assessment with an Inspire trainer.

Do I need previous teaching experience?

No. The programme is suitable for new teachers and career changers. Skills are developed progressively through demonstrations, guided preparation, teaching practice and trainer feedback.

How long does the course take?

The qualification contains 135 hours of learning. Your completion date depends on your intake timetable and the time required for reading, teaching practice and the two ESP mastery topics. Ask us for the exact schedule of the next intake.

Are the classes flexible or self-paced?

The course is not self-paced. Live classes follow a scheduled timetable because interaction and teaching practice are essential. Recordings may support review, but they do not replace attendance and active participation.

What platforms and tools are used?

Live classes are delivered through Zoom, with breakout rooms, digital whiteboards and collaborative tools used for discussion, planning, teaching practice and group work.

How large are the classes?

Online Interactive classes are limited to a maximum of eight trainees, supporting regular participation, meaningful interaction and personalised trainer feedback.

Are morning and evening courses available?

Yes. Morning and evening intakes help accommodate trainees in different time zones. Contact the team for the next available schedules shown in your local time.

How much does the course cost?

Fees can vary by intake and current enrolment options. Request the latest course information for current pricing, upcoming dates and available payment details.

Can I use the certificate to apply for teaching jobs?

The course provides an accredited TESOL certificate and practical teacher training. Employers and countries may also set requirements relating to degrees, visas, work permits, nationality or experience, so always check the specific role and destination.
